  Bertels PAT Ring Cap 2.jpg - RING TOP LAMP ADVERTISEMENT - This ad in an 1887 Pittsburg Times clearly identifies W. B. Bertels as the manufacturer of the ring top lamp. See other Bertels lamps elsewhere in my oilwick lamps section. Although the maker is now known, I have still been unable to find a patent for the lamp. My thanks to my friend and fellow collector Jay Lockard for providing me a copy of the Bertels ad.
